Officials from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), led by its Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Catherine Ridu, visited the project site on 18 August 2014. They were accompanied by a group from Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB) led by Mr. Terrence Koujou, Chief Engineer, Sustainable Energy Development Department.
The group was welcomed by TGE Managing Director, Mr. Ramzi Raad, and other TGE staff, who then accompanied the visitors to the Apas Kiri Geothermal manifestations (comprising the travertine terraces and the travertine conical spouts). Here, the visitors were given detailed explanations by TGE's geoscientists on the significance of manifestations as an indication of geothermal resources.
The group then proceeded to visit the geothermal power plant site, completed first wellpad and logistics warehouse before being given a project briefing at TGE site office. In the discussions following the briefing, SEDA reiterated its support for the successful implementation of Malaysia's first geothermal power plant project.
