Experience : TGE has appointed Dr. Alex Smillie as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1st March 2016. Dr. Smillie brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in developing geothermal resources, having spent many years at Star Energy, the owner and developer of the Wayang Windu Geothermal Project in Bandung, Indonesia.
Dr. Smillie will coordinate and lead the team at TGE in managing the geothermal exploration, design, construction, commissioning and operation and maintenance of the 30MW binary ORC plant and steamfield at Apas Kiri. Apart from driving the technical aspects of the project, he will also work closely with shareholders, lenders, consultants and local authorities in ensuring the project is completed within budget and on time.
IR. ANDREW AMALADOSS
Qualification : Bachelor of Technology (Hons)
Experience : Ir. Amaladoss joined Tawau Green Energy in 2011.
He had a 27-year career with SESB focusing mainly on generation development projects and system planning. He played a significant role both in the introduction of IPPs and private Renewable Energy plants in the Electricity Supply Industry in Sabah. Ir. Amaladoss received his Bachelor of Technology (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University, United Kingdom and an MBA from Durham University, United Kingdom. He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). He is also a member of the Energy Institute, United Kingdom, an Associate Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, United Kingdom and a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, United Kingdom. He is a Member of Engineers Australia and a Chartered Professional Engineer, Australia.
He is a founding member of the Renewable Energy Association of Sabah and is its current Honorary Secretary. He is a Past Chairman of IEM Sabah. He also sits on the Review Committee for Mechanical Engineering at Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic. He has presented papers at both local and international conferences.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Qualification : Bachelor of Business and Accounting
Experience : Daniel joined Tawau Green Energy Sdn Bhd in June 2016
Daniel was previously with KPMG and Ernst & Young where he was involved in audit and advisory engagements with experience in a wide-range of Industries including power and utilities, technology, education and property development.
Daniel is a committee member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) Malaysia Group.
DATUK ERIC JUIN
Qualification : Bachelor of Science in Forestry
Master of Science Forestry
Experience : Datuk Eric Juin joins Tawau Green Energy in March 2015 as advisor on matters pertaining to the environment. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a Master of Science in Forestry from Stephen F. Austin State University, East Texas USA. He was formerly the Director of the Environment Protection Department (EPD) Sabah for 10 years. Prior to that, he served in the Sabah Forestry Department for 28 years holding various positions, the last as Senior Assistant Director of Forestry. He has vast experience in forest management and environmental management. He is life members of the Sabah Society and the Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Foresters. He is also a member of the Dispute Resolution Committee of the Malaysian Timber Certification Council (MTCC).
Qualification : Bachelor of Laws
Certificate in Legal Practice
Experience : Mr. Joibi joins Tawau Green Energy in May 2015. He served in the State Attorney-General Chambers and Lands and Surveys Department Sabah for 29 years as Legal Officer and Registrar of Titles in Sabah. He was also Head of Land Enforcement for seven years. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London and obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) from the Qualifying Board, University of Malaya. He was admitted as an advocate in the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak in 1986. He is well-versed in Sabah land law and administration.
