Project Site Visit with Director of Sabah Forestry Department, YBhg. Datuk Sam Mannan
Director of the Sabah Forestry Department, YBhg. Datuk Sam Mannan, led a group of his officers on a visit to TGE's project site in Apas Kiri. They were welcomed by TGE Managing Director, Mr. Ramzi Raad, who then accompanied the group on an inspection of the access road construction works currently ongoing within the Andrassy Forest Reserve and Tawau Hills Park.
The group was then briefed by Ir. Andrew Amaladoss, TGE Project Director, on the geothermal project, after which there was a lively Q & A session. Datuk Sam Mannan acknowledged that the project would bring many benefits to Sabah in terms of green energy. reliable power generation source, income from carbon credits, transfer of technology and skills etc. He also gave TGE valuable advice with regard to protecting the environment during project construction works, especially the access road. He took note of TGE's plans to undertake turfing and cover crop works within the park and forest reserve so as to avoid erosion.
